Induction:
What to expect

We want you to feel confident about your first weeks and set you up to succeed. Here's what to expect and be prepared for.

Week 1 - 4
  • Day 1 - Collect the kit you need to do the role, meet your colleagues and your trainer
  • Shift pattern - Monday to Friday, 9am – 5:30pm
  • Four days per week working from our Bupa offices and one day working from home (if you have a suitable homeworking set up)

Week 5 - 11
  • Taking live customer calls with regular coaching and support
  • Shift patterns on rotation between 8am- 6pm
  • Four days per week working from our Bupa offices and one day working from home (if you have a suitable homeworking set up)

Week 12 - 14
  • Transition to your operational team
  • Additional training specific to your team i.e. Cardiac, Oncology, Mental Health
  • Support and coaching from your Team Leader
  • Shifts pattern between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday
  • One Saturday per month
  • Three days per week working from our Bupa offices and two days working from home (if you have a suitable homeworking set up)

After week 15
  • Your training period is complete
  • You’ll receive ongoing support from your team leader, with regular performance and career conversations
  • You’ll join our Pay 4 Performance scheme and work towards achieving your key performance metrics and successfully passing your probation (6m)
  • Shifts pattern between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday
  • One Saturday per month
  • Three days per week working from our Bupa offices – two days working from home (if you have a suitable homeworking set up)

Working
from home

Internet connection

  • To be eligible to work from home you'll need to have a wired connection using an ethernet cable​. Any other connection methods are not suitable for our systems to run effectively. 
  • In addition to connection type, your broadband speed must be a minimum of 10mb upload and 4mb download
  • If you do experience issues with your setup, we will ask you to work from our Bupa offices (hybrid & homeworkers).

Home Office

  • To work from home we'll check that you have a suitable desk and chair that are designed to offer appropriate support during work hours. 
  • Your location at home must be a secure space where you cannot be overseen or overheard to protect the privacy of our customers.
  • Remove any potential background noise as you will be servicing our customers over the phone. (i.e. dogs, appliances)

Time off

  • Our fifteen week training period offers you the best start at Bupa. Taking any time off during training would mean missing vital information required to complete the course.
  • If you already have important time off booked, such as holiday or a graduation day, please ensure you share this with our recruitment team.
  • Our holiday year runs from 1st April – 31st March , any time off you have planned in the next 12-18months please let us know as soon as possible.

This equipment will be provided for you on Day 1 to take home please do bear this in mind when travelling to the office

We promote work life balance at Bupa we do not expect you to use your personal device for anything work related

Bupa ID Passes

Passes must always be worn and visible for security purposes. Should anyone forget their pass, managers will need to be contacted to validate entry into the buildings.​
