When Rhea joined Bupa as an Actuarial Placement Student, she wasn’t just looking for a role — she was looking for purpose. Drawn to Bupa’s values of being Brave, Caring, and Responsible, she found a company that aligned with her own principles and offered a rare opportunity to explore actuarial work in a supportive, world-class environment.
“Bupa’s culture really stood out to me,” Rhea shares. “It’s not just about the work — it’s about the people, the energy, and the drive to make a difference.”
Though her role isn’t customer-facing, Rhea plays a vital part in making health happen. As a member of the London Charity Committee, she helps fund local projects that improve communities and create a healthier world.
Her day begins with planning and prioritising, balancing meetings with focused work time and regular reflection points to stay on track. Lunch is often a chance to connect with her team — sometimes outdoors if the London sun makes an appearance. “It’s the little things, like team lunches and shared goals, that make the day feel meaningful.”
With aspirations to become a leader, Rhea is already gaining experience in mentoring new joiners and managing projects. Bupa supports her growth through feedback, training, and stretch opportunities that build confidence and capability. “I’ve learned so much — not just technical skills like Excel, but also how to communicate with stakeholders and write business reports with purpose.”
And the perks? “There’s always something happening at Angel Court,” she says. “From summer parties to free massages, it’s a vibrant place to work.”
