The Priory understands the importance of creating a relaxing environment for its residents. The home welcomes those who require residential, nursing, palliative, convalescence and respite care and creates a unique care plan for each resident upon arrival.
Situated in the pleasant area of Monkspath, the home has been specifically designed to meet the needs of older people. The Priory is surrounded by large enclosed gardens and benefits from a close location tolocal amenities and bus routes, while a GP surgery is just a short distance away. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, a flat-screen TV and a 24-hour call system.
Nutritionally balanced meals are prepared using fresh ingredients and a wide range of dishes are available to choose from. Residents" birthdays are celebrated as are all traditional holidays ranging from Pancake Day to Christmas.
A dedicated activities room allows residents to pursue their own hobbies and share interests and a mobile library visits regularly.
You’ll help us make health happen by:
Acting as the link between the main kitchen and our residents
Assisting the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and ensure all preparation areas are kept clean and tidy
Monitoring stock rotation, complying to company policies and procedures following all mandatory COSHH and HACPP guidelines
Assisting with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. You want to deliver an excellent service at each meal and make our residents feel at home. You’ll understand the importance of maintaining high standards in and around the home, ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. Working with the wider kitchen and care home teams - you’re comfortable communicating with others, cherishing the little moments with our residents.
