We are looking for an experienced Sleep Clinical Physiologist to join our Bank team at Cromwell Hospital. The role sits within our busy and expanding Sleep Service, supporting both outpatient clinics and inpatient/ambulatory sleep diagnostics within the Clinical Investigation Centre (CIC).

You will play a key role in delivering high‑quality sleep diagnostics, supporting the day‑to‑day running of sleep clinics, and contributing to the world‑class care provided by the Lung & Sleep Centre.

How you'll help us make health happen

Working alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will deliver safe, effective, and patient‑centred sleep investigations across adult and paediatric cohorts. The role requires strong clinical competence, the ability to work autonomously, and a proactive approach to maintaining excellent service standards.

You will support both hospital‑based and home sleep studies and contribute to the ongoing development of the sleep service.

Task include:

  • Support the daily and weekly running of sleep clinics
  • Participate in physiologist rotas, including ad‑hoc on‑call weeks
  • When on call, attend and set up respiratory polygraphy and PSG studies at Cromwell Hospital or in patients' homes
  • Contribute to stock control and regular equipment checks to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Maintain flexibility to support service needs as the department continues to grow
  • Work in line with Health & Safety at Work Act requirements
  • Identify and report risks relating to equipment, environments, or clinical practice
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately with patients, carers, and colleagues
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and data security at all times

ESSENTIAL:

  • Respiratory Polygraphy - set‑up, analysis, and reporting
  • Polysomnography (PSG) - set‑up, analysis, and reporting
  • Confidence working with sleep diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to work independently and manage clinical workloads effectively
  • Interest in working with paediatric patients

DESIRABLE:

  • Multiple Sleep Latency Testing (MSLT) - set‑up, analysis, and reporting
  • Actigraphy studies - set‑up, analysis, and reporting
  • Use of positional therapy devices
  • Experience in paediatric sleep diagnostics
  • RPSGT accreditation

Key Skills / Qualifications

  • BSc in Clinical Physiology / Healthcare Science or equivalent
  • Proven experience in sleep diagnostics, including RP and PSG
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and contribute to service improvement
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to deliver high standards under pressure

  • Understanding of private healthcare delivery is advantageous
