Bank Staff Nurse (Medical Ward and AAU)

Paying £28.20ph

Role Overview:

As a Bank Staff Nurse, you will focus on ensuring the provision of high-quality evidence-based nursing care in a clinical setting. As a Bank Staff Nurse, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for the care they delivery. What you'll do:

  • Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of nursing care for patients.
  • Participate in the delivery of a consistent, safe service in all aspects of the patient journey whilst demonstrating a culture of customer service.
  • Undertake clinical duties in any area that is reasonably requested ensuring that you practice within your professional competencies and abilities.
  • Manage care of allocated patients.
  • Act as a clinical role model for all members of staff, driving high standards of care at all times.
  • Recognise the needs for DOL's assessments, mental capacity assessment and
    ‘simple' and ‘complex' safeguarding referrals and highlight any concerns.
  • Have a working knowledge of emergency policies including cardiac arrest and fire.
  • Ensure the correct storage and administration of medications in accordance with the hospital policies and NMC Standards for Medicine Management and ensure the safe handling of drug keys at all times.
  • Act as a Link Nurse in a designated area reporting to and from meetings / training updates.

What you'll bring:

  • Registered General Nurse and NMC PIN required.
  • ILS qualification required.
  • Nursing experience in a Medical Ward within an acute setting.
  • Competent with wound care, venepuncture, cannulation, catheterisation and inserting intravenous lines.
  • Experience in risk assessment.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
