As our Patient Safety and Risk Manager, you'll play a crucial role in strengthening the systems, behaviours, and culture that keep patients safe every day. During this key transition period, you will provide expert leadership to ensure that our approach to patient safety, learning and risk management is robust, compassionate, and continuously improving.
Key Responsibilities
You will support the delivery of safe, transparent, and effective care by leading on patient safety, incident management, and risk processes across the hospital.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the implementation and embedding of PSIRF
Overseeing investigations, learning responses, deep dives and thematic reviews
Ensuring compliance with Duty of Candour
Managing and maintaining the Organisational Risk Register
Providing expert governance, safety and risk reporting to senior committees
Acting as the hospital's Data Protection Officer
Supporting preparation for CQC inspections and external reviews
Key Skills / Qualifications:
We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running with:
Significant senior experience in patient safety, governance or risk management
Strong understanding of PSIRF, risk assessment, and safety learning
Ability to lead investigations and present data clearly at senior level
Excellent influencing and relationship‑building skills
Healthcare professional registration and/or risk management qualifications are desirable but not essential.
