We're looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Barista to join our team at Luma Caffe. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about coffee, hospitality and delivering a five-star customer experience in a premium healthcare environment. The role is based on the duties and requirements outlined within the Barista Job Description.
How You'll Help Us Make Health Happen
As a Barista, you'll be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages and light food items while ensuring every customer receives an exceptional experience. Working as part of the Retail & Hospitality team, you'll help maintain the welcoming atmosphere and operational excellence that Cromwell Hospital is known for.
You will:
Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, beverages and light food items to brand standards.
Deliver a friendly, professional and personalised customer experience.
Create a warm and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and colleagues.
Take ownership of customer requests and resolve issues efficiently.
Demonstrate strong product knowledge and confidently recommend food and beverage options.
Support promotional activities and identify opportunities to enhance customer choice through upselling.
Operate coffee machines and equipment safely and effectively.
Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards across front and back-of-house areas.
Monitor and replenish stock to ensure smooth daily operations.
Follow all food safety, allergen, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support efficient and effective service delivery.
Key Skills / Qualifications
Essential
Previous Barista experience or coffee training.
Experience delivering exceptional customer service within a busy environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Excellent attention to detail and presentation standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible approach to working shifts, weekends and holidays where required.
Desirable
Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment.
Food Safety Level 2 qualification, or willingness to obtain.
Experience working in a premium hospitality or healthcare environment.
