  • Lead, coach and develop a team of credit control professionals through regular performance reviews, objective setting and development support.

  • Establish and monitor KPIs relating to collections performance, productivity and service delivery by controller

  • Act as an escalation point for complex account disputes, complaints and credit control issues.

  • Analyse aged debt trends, insurance shortfalls and portfolio risks, providing recommendations to senior stakeholders.

  • Build strong relationships with Finance, Commercial Finance, operational teams and external payors to resolve issues efficiently and improve outcomes.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process simplification, automation and control enhancements.

  • Ensure compliance with governance, documentation and data management requirements

Key Skills/Qualifications needed for this role

We're looking for someone who can combine strong financial and operational expertise with outstanding leadership skills.

  • Experience leading and developing teams to achieve challenging performance targets is required

  • Previous experience within private healthcare or insurance would be advantageous specifically the aged debt process and insurer shortfall resolution.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess financial risk, identify trends and make informed decisions.

  • Experience managing escalations, complaints, complex account disputes and aged debt portfolios.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.

  • Strong reporting and data analysis capabilities, including intermediate Excel skills e.g sumif, vlookups, PIVOT tables

  • Experience delivering process improvement, automation and operational efficiency initiatives.

  • A strong understanding of governance, controls and finance operations processes.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders as well as patients and hospital consultants

  • Demonstrable experience using Compucare is desirable but not essential.
