Full time - 37.5 hours per week

Monday to Saturday:

Shifts on Monday to Friday - 8am to 8pm

Shifts on Saturday - 8am to 2pm

Salary: From £29,029.00 a year dependent on experience

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced healthcare assistant who is an enthusiastic individual with an interest in healthcare to join us on a permanent basis at Bupa's Cromwell Hospital.

The Healthcare Assistant role supports safe, consistent delivery of outpatient and health screening services by providing direct patient care and operational support across the pathway. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, the post holder undertakes core clinical tasks including observations, phlebotomy, patient preparation and flow coordination, while ensuring accurate documentation, infection control and adherence to governance standards.

The role also contributes to clinic efficiency, stock management and service development, helping maintain a smooth, well‑run environment. Overall, it's about delivering compassionate, hands‑on care while supporting the wider team to meet quality, safety and patient experience expectations.

What you'll do:

  • Provide high quality physical and psychological Care with Compassion

  • Have the Courage to speak up and Commitment to be a patient advocate.
  • Participate in the delivery of a consistent, safe service in all aspects of the patient journey, from greeting and orientating through to discharge, whilst demonstrating a culture of customer service.
  • Provide holistic nursing care interventions as directed, ensuring patients optimum care needs are met.
  • Undertake clinical duties in any area that is reasonably requested ensuring that you practice within your achieved competencies and abilities reporting any changes or concerns to the nurse in charge.
  • Assist with collection and transportation of specimens.
  • Escort patients for investigations
  • Prepare and oversee clinic rooms as delegated.
  • Maintain up to date care records and observations charts.

Experience/Skills Required:

Essential Qualifications

  • Basic Education
  • Competent in written and oral English
  • NVQ Level 2 (Direct Patient Care) or equivalent/ Care Certificate
  • Venepuncture skills/Phlebotomy skills
  • BLS
  • First Aid Course

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 (Direct Patient Care)

Experience

  • Experience in primary care and/or Community Nursing/ outpatient in any setting
  • Experience in clinical audit
