About The Cromwell Hospital
The Cromwell Hospital is a major international private hospital in West London receive both UK and international patients. We are committed to providing the highest quality healthcare outpatient and inpatient service care.
The hospital has 180 beds and 4 suites, 6 theatres, medical and surgical wards, CDU, level 2 and 3 full adult intensive care facilities, paediatrics (in/outpatients), investigative and diagnostic services, physiotherapy, a dedicated day surgery unit, and onsite pharmacy service.
The pharmacy service is open on Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 8pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 2.30pm.
How you'll help us make health happen:
The successful pharmacy Technician will work to ensure a cohesive team focus for the provision of an efficient, smooth running dispensing service.
A key member of the Pharmacy Team to assist in the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service which consistently meets the needs of all service users. The post holder will contribute to the efficient day to day running of the dispensary, working under the supervision of a Senior Pharmacy Technician and receiving Pharmacist support.
Responsibilities include; dispensing and checking, patient counselling, stock management, assisting training of staff and ensuring dispensary duties are completed. All processes must be in line with legislation: CQC, Home Office, GPh.C, and MHRA and CH SOP standards.
What you'll do:
Price and dispense out-patient prescriptions in accordance with the law and hospital procedures and to ensure that the appropriate checking procedures are adhered to at all times.
Participate in patient counselling and department counter service as appropriate.
Sell ‘Pharmacy only' and GSL medicines to patients, using appropriate questioning to ensure that the medicines are being used appropriately, under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist in accordance with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society guidelines for licensed retail pharmacies.
Ensure that prescription documentation is maintained and stored appropriately in accordance with the law.
Ensure that all charges are posted appropriately in order to assist in the delivery of the hospital's business goals.
Participate in the stock distribution function of the technician team. To liaise with ward and department managers to ensure that ward stocks are kept at suitable levels, to ensure drugs are stored correctly, ensure stock rotation and expiry date checking. To ensure the efficient functioning of Pyxis on designated wards as appropriate.
What you'll bring:
A registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.
Experience of retail and/or hospital pharmacy
Have a positive can-do attitude and be willing to go the extra mile.
