The Cromwell Hospital is a major international private hospital in West London receive both UK and international patients. We are committed to providing the highest quality healthcare outpatient and inpatient service care. The hospital has 180 beds and 4 suites, 6 theatres, medical and surgical ward, CDU, level 2 and 3 full adult intensive care facilities, paediatric in and outpatients, diagnostic services, physiotherapy, primary care, and a dedicated day surgery unit.
Our Heart & Lung Centre treat even the most challenging case, and we provide minimal invasive and open heart surgery (Valve repair or replacement, CABG, Hybrid AF ablation) with the assistance of specialist MDT.
The Specialist Nurse Team Leader in Angiography will plan and implement overall standard of operational policies, procedures and assist in the extension of the services provided by the angiography. In addition to its remit, they will provide specialist clinical knowledge and practice skills in a broad range of cardiac, radiology and vascular procedures and when necessary, aid in the role of scrub, circulatory and recovery nurse. Working closely with and reporting to the Head of Cardiac Services, you'll help create and maintain KPI's and ensures that project milestones and goals are meet and adhering to.
This position is full-time, with core hours of 8am to 6pm (with possibility of later cases). On offer would be flexible shifts and working patterns throughout the week, plus on-call commitment, however a requirement of presence within the department for the week would be necessary and in the absence of this correctly deputised.
How you'll help us make health happen:
You'll have a high level of expertise and be familiar with all clinical functions of the department, and act as a clinical expert in angiography nursing delivering evidence-based care and maintaining procedural policies and competencies.
You'll utilise specialist skills to support and assist other departments / wards with training and clinical competence relating to angiography services.
The management of the delivery and provision of high-quality patient care.
You'll be accountable for staff payroll, maintain staff rostering and adequate levels of cover for all angiography activity.
To ensure department KPI's and yearly budgets are met with the Head of Cardiac Services.
To support a culture of learning, accountability, professional development in the lab, and maintain 100% compliance with hospital mandatory training for you and your team, monitor standards of all staff within the department.
Ensure department audit records are maintained and shared in the MDT in conjunction with the Head of Cardiac Services and ensure an efficient reporting service is maintained.
You'll develop and maintain robust clinical pathways from pre-assessment, to admission, to procedure, to ward and discharge.
You'll be aware of new developments in equipment and diagnostic / interventional procedures and advise the clinical and line manager where necessary.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
NMC Registered Nurse (First/Second level registration)
Diploma or Degree in Health Care Studies.
Short course or diploma in Cardiology/Cardiothoracic Nursing or similar.
Evidence to support a programme of personal, professional development.
Undergraduate degree in Nursing
