Staff Nurse (Day Surgery Unit)

Cromwell Hospital, London SW5 0TU

37.5 hours per week (Fixed Term Contract)

Shifts - Monday- Friday except bank holiday's from 06:30am-£22.00hrs

Early shift 06:30am-14:30hrs or late shift from 14:00hrs - 22:00hrs

Paying £35,964- £45,480 per annum dependent on experience

Role Overview:

As a Staff Nurse you will be a caring and compassionate nurse, delivering a high standard of care to our patients. We value all our people and will provide you support and a great place to work.

At The Cromwell hospital requires Staff Nurse who can provide high quality patient care and works in line with the hospital's values and in accordance with professional regulations. You will work in line with local and national policies, regulations, protocols and guidelines to provide safe quality care.

What you'll do:

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised quality patient care based on the Day Surgery Unit SOP.
  • Ensure nursing practice is of the highest standard in line with hospital, CQC and NMC standards.
  • Supply and administer medication safely in line with hospital policy.
  • Assess and support patients with their adherence and understanding of their medication.
  • Work with the multi-disciplinary team and collaboratively ensure appropriate care is provided.
  • Escalate appropriately following the correct pathway, any concerns that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of the patients in your care.
  • Respect people's rights to privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
  • Be aware of Clinical Governance and the impact it has on patient care.
  • Assist in collating clinical audits for the department and directorate.
  • Keep clear and accurate records, following NMC standards of documentation

What you'll bring:

  • Registered General Nurse and NMC PIN required.
  • Nursing experience 1 year in a hospital setting. (Post registration.)
  • Previous experience in a Surgical Ward is desirable.
  • ILS certificate (Desirable.)
  • Competent with venepuncture, wound care, cannulation and intravenous medication is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills utilising these with patients, visitors, and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
