Healthcare Assistant (Dermatology)

Location: London: Cross Rail

Full time 40 hours per week (Monday-Saturday)

Salary £29,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

As a healthcare assistant you will provide high-quality clinical and administrative support to the dermatology team, ensuring safe, effective and compassionate patient care in a private clinical setting.

  • Support patients before, during, and after dermatological consultations and procedures
  • Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and sterile instruments
  • Assist the Dermatologist / Nurse with minor surgical procedures, biopsies, laser treatments and wound care
  • Apply dressings and provide post-procedure care as directed
  • Take and manage clinical photographs where required by Dermatologists
  • Maintain patient dignity, comfort and confidentiality at all times
  • Accurately update and maintain electronic medical records within their scope of practice
  • Manage consent forms and clinical documentation as required
  • Assist with appointment scheduling and patient flow
  • Handle clinical correspondence and basic reporting using Microsoft Office
  • Monitor and replenish clinical stock and supplies
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Care Certificate (completed)
  • Dermatology Specific Training
  • Safeguarding Training (Adults / Children)
  • Basic Life Support (or willingness to undertake training)
  • Infection prevention and control training
  • Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant in a healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and electronic record systems
  • Experience in dermatology, outpatient, or private clinical settings
  • Experience assisting with minor surgical or aesthetic procedures
