We make health happen

At Bupa, we're here to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives - and make a better world. As a Pricing Actuary, you'll play a key role in shaping how we price and develop our international health insurance products. Your insights will help us deliver fair, sustainable pricing that supports our customers and drives our business forward.

You'll be joining a team that's passionate about using data and analytics to make smart decisions. Whether it's developing new pricing strategies, analysing product performance, or supporting innovation, your work will directly contribute to our mission. And because we don't have shareholders, we reinvest our profits into better healthcare and better experiences for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

As a Pricing Actuary, you'll:

  • Lead and support pricing initiatives across Bupa Global's international health insurance products

  • Carry out rate reviews and make recommendations to improve product performance

  • Use advanced analytics and modelling techniques to support strategic decisions

  • Collaborate with international stakeholders to develop pricing strategies and tools

  • Analyse competitor pricing and market trends to inform our approach

  • Support cross-functional projects as a subject matter expert in pricing and analytics

  • Help identify and implement new data sources, tools and techniques to improve pricing accuracy and efficiency

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who's curious, collaborative and confident working with data. You'll need:

  • To be a qualified actuary (IFoA or equivalent). This is essential, please specify on your application

  • Experience in pricing - ideally in international private medical insurance (IPMI), but we're open to candidates from other insurance sectors

  • Strong skills in data manipulation and analysis

  • Experience with statistical modelling (e.g. GLMs) and tools like SAS, Emblem, Radar or R

  • A track record of using analytics to solve business problems and influence decisions

  • A proactive mindset - someone who challenges assumptions, thinks from the customer's perspective, and explores new ideas

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Benefits

Our benefits are designed to make health happen for our people. Viva is our global wellbeing programme and includes all aspects of our health - from mental and physical, to financial, social and environmental wellbeing. We support flexible working and have a range of family-friendly benefits.

Joining Bupa in this role you will receive the following benefits and more:

  • 25 days holiday, increasing through length of service, with the option to buy or sell

  • 10% Annual performance-based bonus scheme

  • Generous pension scheme

  • Private medical insurance

  • Enhanced parental leave

  • Access to internal and external learning resources

  • Discounts on Bupa products and services
