Bupa Place, Salford Quays or Willow House, Staines - hybrid working with minimum 1 day in the office

Full time - 37.5 hours per week

Salary up to £56,300 DOE

As a Risk & Incident Officer, you'll play a key role in protecting our customers and our business by supporting the delivery of robust risk, control and governance practices across UK Insurance Operations.

Working closely with the Senior Risk, Control and Governance Manager and operational risk owners, you'll help embed Bupa's Risk Management Framework into day‑to‑day activity. You'll support teams to identify, manage and mitigate risk, strengthen controls and ensure customer outcome risks are well understood and effectively managed.

How you'll help us make health happen:

  • Support the identification, assessment and management of operational and customer outcome risks across Operations.
  • Maintain and update risk registers, ensuring risks and controls are clearly documented and kept up to date.
  • Support control testing and attestations, ensuring activity aligns with framework and reporting requirements.
  • Help coordinate incident management activity, supporting root‑cause analysis and remediation actions.
  • Work with audit teams to support audits, including input into scope, facilitation and tracking actions to completion.
  • Promote strong risk awareness by supporting teams with guidance on risk management, incidents and control effectiveness.
  • Support the development of effective governance across the function, escalating issues and concerns where needed.
  • Work closely with Control & Standards and Incident & Remediation teams to ensure consistency of approach across UKI.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

Essential

  • Experience working within risk, controls, governance or incident management roles, particularly logging/recording risks and working with controls in a project or operational context.
  • Understanding of risk management frameworks, including risk identification, control assessment and mitigation.
  • Experience working in a regulated or controlled environment.
  • Strong stakeholder‑management skills, able to build relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Good analytical skills, with the ability to review data, risks and controls and identify trends or issues.

Desirable

  • Experience within financial services, insurance or healthcare.
  • Exposure to audit activity, control testing or assurance processes.
