The role
Being a commercially focused and trusted adviser to senior leaders, you'll lead change, transformation and tactical people delivery for Bupa Care Services. This role will be a positive disrupter, building strong relationships quickly to innovate and accelerate plans to mobilise change effectively.
You'll manage and coordinate a broad People plan of activity for the Care Services business, aligning to the strategy and emerging risks of the business.
You'll work with the Senior People Business Partners to respond to and prioritise people requirements utilising the People partner team resource effectively, making strong use of data to inform priorities.
You'll provide strong people leadership and guidance to the People Delivery team, provoking change to continue raising the bar of performance, working with the Head of People to ensure People risks are well managed and reported.
You'll lead people support for the business (operations and support functions) across run/cyclical activities to ensure efficient and effective delivery, continuous improvement and improved manager capability.
How you'll help us make health happen
Provide strong leadership to the People Delivery team, fostering a collaborative, accountable and high-performance culture.
Lead complex projects and programmes with a structured approach, ensuring delivery is on time, within scope and budget, and aligned to strategic priorities.
Develop and implement resource planning strategies to maximise team capability and ensure optimal utilisation across the team and stakeholder requirements.
Build capability within the team through coaching, mentoring and development planning, ensuring consistent delivery standards and succession readiness.
Establish clear governance frameworks and delivery controls to monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure transparency in delivery.
Manage the Care Services delivery plan - including cyclical calendar, incoming demand, engagement plan and key change project activity. Work with key business stakeholders to showcase delivery and align the plan with key business priorities.
Actively manage interdependencies across stakeholders and teams, ensuring alignment and minimising duplication or resource conflict - with particular focus on the relationship with People Operations and COEs.
Ensure key people risks and their control/mitigation is embedded into the people plan and report against these where required.
Utilise key people data and metrics to continually inform people delivery
Deputise for the Head of People - Care Services where required, including representing Care Services at key project governance forums.
Your experience and competencies
CIPD qualified or equivalent relevant experience
Commercial acumen - understands the commercial aspects of the business and how to develop people plans that will support and enhance business performance.
Generalist HR experience gained within a relevant market and / or industry - exposure to a Healthcare / Retail / Hospitality / Consumer led environment would be hugely beneficial.
Generalist HR experience ideally within a provision business with particular expertise in people programmes and people leadership
Leading and embedding HR change projects/programmes which span large numbers of employees.
Strong people leadership experience, interpersonal and communication skills with the experience of motivating and inspiring a remote team.
Experience of effective resource utilisation and prioritisation, balanced with strong stakeholder management.
Good knowledge of tools and techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects and programmes, including budget management.
Sound business case development and experience of presenting and influencing at Senior steering committees.
Experience of people risk management, controls and reporting.
Experience of data and AI use to drive key delivery focus on priorities
