Application support Analyst
Salary: £45,000 plus on call overtime compensation paid for 1hr each day on a 8 week rota
Location : Hybrid working - 1 day per month at our Brighton office BN1 4FY
Contract type: Permanent
Shift pattern: Full-time - 37.5 hours per week

As a Application support Analyst you will deliver an exceptional customer experience for Bupa Global's IT system users by swiftly and effectively responding to and resolving IT Incidents, Events, Requests and Queries. The role holder will effectively collaborate with the business users, Bupa Global IT team, central Bupa IT teams and third-party vendors.
The Application Support Analyst will be the technical expert supporting the rest of the IT Support Teams. This includes investigating and resolving complex, challenging and urgent IT issues, problems and opportunities.
How you'll help us make health happen:
Carry out effective triage of the BG UK Application Support incident queue
Resolve IT Incidents and Events, observing operational priority, impact and SLAs, in a
timely manner, escalating where appropriate.
Focus on root cause analysis and resolution for re-occurring Incidents and Events and
make long term recommendations and fixes.
Work on different systems, and issues, beyond own expertise; whilst maintaining
quality of service.
Complete IT Requests in an effective manner, by understanding the true business
requirement, outcome and suitable technical solutions.
Undertaking minor development work with the potential to grow this aspect over time.
Recommend opportunities to IT management to improve the overall IT strategy and
value of IT to Bupa Global
Demonstrate and apply continuous learning, developing business & system subject
matter expertise.
On-boarding assigned new IT systems into the Production Services function, acting as
the interface with Projects and Vendors and, where appropriate, being embedded in major
change projects and programmes; ensuring delivered services are supportable (appropriate
monitoring & alerting, tooling, reliability).
Deliver timely and appropriate communication to stakeholders and internal customers,
providing acknowledgement and effective updates
Act as a single Bupa Global IT function, supporting systems and colleagues across the
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
Experience of working in a matrix managed environment, with mixed teams including
contractors and outsourced vendors
Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills are required with emphasis
on achieving results and successful outcomes
Graduate Calibre, IT professional
Preferably a background in Science, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science
ITIL certification to foundation level or above, with practical experience of working in an ITIL framework
Detailed understanding of a number of development technologies, environments, and frameworks; such as: Azure, SOAP/REST, C#, MVC, ASP.NET Web Forms, SQL, JQuery, JavaScript, HTML & CSS
Expert in database technologies such as PL/SQL and/or T-SQL and writing performant queries, with knowledge in oracle reports or SSIS/SSAS/SSRS
