We're looking to appoint a self-motivated, organised Assistant Buyer to join our procurement team in Manchester. Here you'll be developing relationships with various stakeholders, and you'll work with Buyers and Category Managers to ensure products and services are sourced in accordance with Bupa's procurement policies.
How you'll help us make health happen
Support the development and maintenance a of category/purchasing plans which have a clear savings/opportunity pipeline.
Follow category prioritises based on benefits and opportunities and business
requirements.
Upon the instruction of the Category Specialist (Buyer), and Category Managers undertake market research and benchmarking of the goods, services and suppliers in the market, using Procurement models and methodology.
Support Category Specialists (Buyers) and Category Managers with a commercial tendering process to obtain the best outcome for Bupa. Including, pre-qualification activity, requirements definition, selection criteria, issuing invitations to suppliers, tender and commercial review, and selection.
Preparation of category reporting dashboards, providing clear data driven insights to category teams.
Coordinate the end-to-end Due Diligence process for allocated suppliers, ensuring all documentation is collected, and effective collaboration with internal
stakeholders to meet compliance requirements within agreed timeframes, providing regular updates to category team.
Administer contracts into the Jaggaer procurement system including contract drafting in collaboration with stakeholders. Be a Procurement advocate, positively raising the profile of Procurement throughout the organisation.
Maintain commercial confidentiality and conduct supplier relationships with the highest standard of ethical conduct.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
Ideally holds a Graduate Degree
Desirable MCIPS qualified or is studying towards this qualification or equivalent professional qualification
Strong commercial awareness
Negotiation and contract drafting skills an advantage
Experience of building and maintaining effective relationships
