This role sits within Group Functions Technology (GF Tech), delivering strategic global solutions across the Group and Global Functions within Bupa. 

Specifically, this role is to join the Finance Technology domain that supports Finance within Bupa group. In this space you will build solutions and work across teams to deliver outcomes for Finance. The products supported will vary over time, but cover Oracle EPM, integration, and data engineering.

How you'll make health happen

  • Product Delivery: Manage and deliver products with the GF Technology team.

  • Solution Architecture: Design and implement solution architectures.

  • Continuous Improvement: Enhance monitoring and alerting of the application stack.

  • Incident Management: Respond to and resolve production failures and incidents.

  • Post-Mortems: Conduct post-mortems for all significant incidents.

  • Automation: Reduce manual tasks through automation.

  • Metrics Development: Add and develop metrics in existing code and components.

  • Reliability Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance application reliability.

  • Capacity Planning: Measure capacity and address potential bottlenecks proactively.

  • Feature Grooming: Ensure SRE needs are included in new feature development.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain necessary documentation and tooling for production support.

  • Infrastructure-as-Code: Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code assets.

  • Collaboration: Work with colleagues and internal customers to ensure solutions are delivering against needs and business objectives.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Significant and demonstratable experience of supporting and delivering Oracle EPM solutions in a large, matrix and global organisation.

  • Recent experience in a DevOps, software or SRE engineer role

  • Strong API and interfacing experience

  • Always strives for approach of; cloud first and automation, where possible

  • Educated to minimum of degree level in engineering, computer science or related technology discipline

  • Azure/GCP certifications(s) preferable or equivalent highly regarded

  • Strong engineering practices, especially automation Terraform

  • Language skill:

- Groovy (beneficial)

- SQL/TSQL (beneficial)

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Stakeholder management and relationship building skills
