Our Domiciliary Care Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and quality of life for our residents. You will oversee the delivery of personalized care services in our Assisted Living and 55 Independent Living apartments. Managing a dedicated team of caregivers and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Your leadership and expertise are vital in creating a supportive and nurturing environment, fostering independence and dignity for all residents. You'll help us make health happen by:
Gaining and managing CQC registration for the Registered Manager's role for the domiciliary care agency within the retirement village
Planning and providing a high standard of care for residents based on the assessment of their needs, ensuring you consult with the resident, their relatives and the care team
Managing and leading senior care assistants with the daily allocation of visits to clients
Leading the ongoing assessment, planning and evaluation of care for residents including designation of tasks to Care Assistants
Training new staff, inductions, audits, reviewing care practise within the Village and other duties as required
Liaising with the General Practitioner, Chiropodist, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and other health professionals
Reviewing stock levels of nursing supplies and submitting replenishment orders
Updating Medication Administration Record sheets and managing medications distributed to residents
Reporting any significant changes in the health of residents to the Village Manager and keeping the next of kin informed
Assisting residents with the ordering and administration of their medicines as appropriate
Answering the emergency call system for the independent, assisted and supported living residents
Assisting residents who need help with the activities of daily living, including dressing and washing and supporting residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
You hold a (or willing to work towards) Level 5 Diploma in leadership management in adult care (or equivalent) and have previous experience working in a care environment, ideally with a strong clinical background. Previous experience managing a team and any further health and social care, or relevant management qualifications would be advantageous. An excellent communicator with strong organisation skills and an ability to use Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel and Email. You're sensitive to the needs of others with an ability to implement action plans and address needs. Leading by example, you'll work well as part of a team, sharing best practise to help deliver outstanding care to our residents. A registered managers award or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
