We make health happen
At Bupa, we're here to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives and make a better world. Our Business Development Manager Northern Europe plays a key role in helping us make this happen.
In this role, you'll promote Bupa Global's premium health insurance offering across Northern Europe, which includes Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. You'll help bring our purpose to life by strengthening relationships with brokers and partners, expanding our presence in the Individual, SME and Corporate markets, and ensuring customers have access to high‑quality health support when they need it most.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape commercial growth in a region full of potential. You'll be the face of Bupa Global in the market - building trusted relationships, spotting opportunities, and making sure our partners understand the real value of health and care powered by expertise.
Key Responsibilities
As our Business Development Manager Northern Europe, you'll:
Support commercial growth across Individual, SME and Corporate segments by managing a healthy sales pipeline and planning for consistent growth.
Develop new commercial channels, such as domestic insurance providers, family offices, private banks and wealth management firms.
Build strong, positive relationships with brokers and partners, maintaining a regular presence in the market, including travel across Northern Europe.
Lead Quarterly Business Reviews to share insights, review performance and agree shared priorities.
Contribute to business planning and deliver accurate forecasting and market updates.
Deliver engaging and persuasive sales presentations tailored to a range of audiences.
Manage the sales cycle end‑to‑end - from prospecting through to onboarding and contracting with new partners.
Work closely with internal teams to protect existing business, support retention and identify opportunities to cross‑sell.
Analyse broker, competitor and market data to advise on opportunities and support commercial decision‑making.
Support senior stakeholders on tenders, pitches and negotiations to help drive Bupa's position in the region.
Make sure good customer outcomes sit at the heart of every decision and meet relevant regulatory expectations for the role.
What We're Looking For
You'll bring:
Strong experience in intermediary distribution and/or direct sales within healthcare or insurance; international private medical insurance (IPMI) experience is a plus.
A proven track record of consultative selling and consistent new business delivery across Individual, SME or Corporate markets.
Confidence developing commercial plans and driving growth through partners.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluent English; proficiency in a Nordic language is valued.
A commercial, analytical mindset with the ability to turn insights into action.
Comfort working in a matrix environment and collaborating cross‑functionally.
A proactive, organised and resilient approach with the ability to manage a varied workload independently.
A commitment to strong customer outcomes, regulatory awareness and ethical behaviour in line with Bupa's standards.
