We make health happen

At Bupa, we're driven by a clear purpose: helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world. As a health insurer and provider with no shareholders, our customers are at the heart of everything we do. This role sits within our Insurance Risk and Compliance function, supporting Bupa Egypt Insurance (BEI).

As Risk Manager - BEI, you'll play a vital role in embedding a proactive risk culture, ensuring our business decisions are made with care, and helping us stay resilient in a fast-changing world. You'll be a trusted partner to the business, providing expert advice and challenge, and helping shape the future of risk management in Egypt.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and oversight of the risk framework for Bupa Egypt, ensuring all areas of risk are identified, assessed, and managed in line with our appetite
  • Act as a business-facing, independent second line function, providing day-to-day risk partnering and support
  • Deliver the annual risk management plan and provide high-quality reporting to senior management and the Board
  • Build a risk-aware culture across the organisation, embedding the 3 Lines of Defence model
  • Support the definition and monitoring of risk appetite, including operational risk modelling and scenario analysis
  • Provide effective challenge to the business, escalating risks and supporting practical solutions
  • Oversee incident management and root cause analysis, ensuring lessons are learned and improvements made
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Manager BEI to support regulatory change, inspections, and engagement
  • Deputise for senior leadership in risk-related matters when required

What We're Looking For

  • A graduate degree (BSc or BA)
  • Experience in a risk role, ideally within insurance
  • Strong understanding of Egypt's regulatory environment
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (verbal and written)
  • Professional qualifications such as CRISC, FRM, PRM, CFRP, or CRM are desirable
  • Experience working within a 3 Lines of Defence model
  • Proven ability to embed risk frameworks in complex organisations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong judgement and analytical thinking
  • Objective, pragmatic, and resilient under pressure
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and lead change effectively
