Assistant Buyer
Hybrid working with up to 3 days per week working from home
Salford Quays, Manchester

Salary £24K - £26K per annum

How you'll help us make health happen:
The Assistant Buyer will work across multiple categories with responsibility to ensure products and services are sourced competitively and cost effectively. This will also include supporting other Procurement Team members on specific activities and projects.
In addition, the job holder will:
Support the development and maintenance a of category/purchasing plans which have a clear savings/opportunity pipeline.
Follow category prioritises based on benefits and opportunities and business requirements.
Undertake market research and benchmarking of the goods, services and suppliers in the market, using Procurement models and methodology.
Support with a commercial tendering process to obtain the best outcome for Bupa. Including, requirements definition, selection criteria, issuing invitations to suppliers, tender and commercial review, and selection.
Ensures timelines are achieved for sourcing initiatives.
Participate in contract negotiations and planning to deliver innovative solutions by challenging the status quo and business requirements.
Interfacing with internal customers to ensure requirements are identified and understood.
Be a Procurement advocate, positively raising the profile of Procurement throughout the organisation.
Maintain commercial confidentiality and conduct supplier relationships with the highest standard of ethical conduct.
Qualifications, Training and Experience
Ideally holds a Graduate Degree
Desirable MCIPS qualified or is studying towards this qualification (or equivalent professional qualification
Strong commercial awareness
Strong negotiation skills an advantage
Experience of building and maintaining effective relationships
