Job Purpose
As our Supplier Relationship Manager you'll bring your stakeholder engagement skills to the fore assisting Supplier Relationship Managers in the managing of business relationships with a number of selected key Bupa suppliers and take ownership for contract compliance of other suppliers with personal accountability to:
Generate maximum value from contracts and deliver ongoing cost saving and other value benefit.
Measure supplier performance against contractual and aspirational service delivery targets whilst assisting in agreeing and monitoring improvement plans with suppliers.
Develop supplier relationships so that Bupa is a customer of choice and that risks to continuation of supply are minimised.
Collaborate with suppliers to develop innovations to products, supply chain or service work flows to generate additional value to both parties.
Perform benchmarking of supplier performance against industry standards.
Accountabilities & Activities:
Contribute to and take ownership, when required, of designing, generating supplier status analysis and reports on Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activity as required by the SRM team.
Assist in and/ or lead in identifying Value Creating Opportunities (VCO) and their effective implementation.
Facilitate a co-ordinated communications approach to SRM both internally to senior operational stakeholders and externally with suppliers.
Where required, lead supplier review meetings with category management staff and business stakeholders to assess supplier performance and contract compliance and take corrective action as agreed with the Supplier Relationship Manager to manage cost creep and maintain service levels for specific vendors.
Support the remediation of contract leakage by effective stakeholder management and working with Category Management teams.
Make informed decisions using detailed cost modelling to recommend and implement changes as required to improve supplier performance
Assess SLA appropriateness and quality of management information to ensure that any resulting risks can be mitigated. Recommend and implement changes as required.
Work with the UK Category Management teams to identify commercial sourcing opportunities and support the negotiation of new contracts or contract renewals
Lead or assist in identifying synergies in the requirements of multiple Bupa UK businesses to leverage contracts and deliver value benefit and cost savings.
Qualifications, Training & Experience:
The job holder will:
Have at least 3 years of proven supplier/contract management, administration, negotiation or similar experience.
Be expected to train towards or hold a professional SRM qualification or MCIPS (Study support can be provided).
Be comfortable with reading contracts in relation to cost modelling and SLA's and have the ability to work with the Legal and Category Management teams to agree variations to contracts for goods and services..
Be able to collate, interpret and interrogate detailed operational management information into transparent commercial conclusions and recommendations which support or drive VCO.
Be able to analyse and present large amounts of financial data with attention to detail and effectively communicate these at all levels to influence change.
Be self motivating and have the ability to motivate others and have good influencing and persuasion skills.
Possess excellent planning, organisation, communication, problem solving and project management skills and have the ability to matrix-manage to lead and/or close initiatives.
Have a broad business awareness, knowledge of Bupa, the Healthcare market in general and advances within the UK and global supply chains.
