We make health happen

At Bupa, our purpose is helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world. As a global healthcare leader with no shareholders, we reinvest our profits into improving the health and wellbeing of our customers and communities. With over 29 million customers in 190 countries, we're proud to be a truly international organisation.

This role sits within our Bupa Global in-patient team in Singapore, where we're building our own in-house Third Party Administrator (TPA) capabilities. As a Specialist Advisor, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our members receive the best possible care while helping us manage healthcare costs responsibly. It's a unique opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives while shaping the future of international healthcare delivery.

How you'll help us make health happen:

As a Clinical Specialist Advisor, you'll be the clinical voice behind our in-patient care decisions. You'll use your medical expertise and market knowledge to assess treatment requests, support pre-authorisations, and ensure claims are handled fairly and efficiently.

Here's a flavour of what you'll be doing:

  • Reviewing treatment requests using evidence-based clinical judgement and regional coding practices
  • Supporting the in-patient team to ensure 100% of cases are reviewed, including surgeon, anaesthesia, and hospital fees
  • Assessing claims and ensuring provider payments align with pre-authorisation terms
  • Negotiating with providers to ensure adherence to contractual agreements
  • Identifying trends and feeding insights back to drive positive change in provider behaviour

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

We're looking for someone who brings both clinical insight and a customer-first mindset. You'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred
  • Clinical experience (local or overseas) – ideally in nursing or pharmaceutical
  • Experience in a utilisation review or insurance/TPA environment is essential
  • Strong knowledge of medical coding systems
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • A collaborative, customer-focused approach with strong communication skills in English
