This role plays a key part in supporting our mission by ensuring our supply chain and procurement operations run smoothly and efficiently across our London Diagnostics and Secondary Care Campus.
As Head of Supply Chain and Procurement, you'll lead a high-performing team and shape the strategic direction of our medical supply chain. You'll be at the heart of integrating new services and clinical specialities from acquisitions like New Victoria and Canary Wharf into our Bupa Cromwell framework. It's a unique opportunity to make a real impact on patient care and operational excellence.
Strategic leadership: Setting the direction for our medical supply chain and advising senior leaders on growth and planning.
Budget management: Developing and overseeing departmental budgets, including staff costs and capital expenditure.
Team development: Supporting training, engagement, and team-building initiatives to help your department thrive.
Inventory management: Embedding our new Inventory Management System (IMS), driving continuous improvement, and aligning with clinical needs.
Purchasing operations: Ensuring purchasing processes meet corporate standards and resolving issues that impact clinical services.
Procurement and contracting: Leading supplier relationships, standardising product sets, and working with Bupa Procurement on strategic sourcing.
Stakeholder engagement: Collaborating with clinical teams, finance, legal, and external suppliers to deliver value and performance.
Governance and compliance: Ensuring adherence to health and safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
We're looking for someone who brings a wealth of experience and a collaborative, forward-thinking approach. Ideally, you'll have:
A degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related field.
15-20 years' experience in hospital or healthcare supply chain and procurement.
Strong understanding of healthcare workflows and commercial structures.
Proven ability to lead multi-site operations and large-scale procurement strategies.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, especially with senior clinical leaders.
A creative mindset and the ability to solve complex challenges.
Experience in mergers and acquisitions, including post-acquisition integration.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
