£57,000 - £71,000 per annum, depending on experience
10% management bonus scheme
Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

Working within the UKIT Digital team at Bupa, the Senior Engineer – Digital, Mobile will be an expert in their field with proven mastery experience React Native. As a Senior React Native mobile developer, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting high quality mobile applications for both iOS and Android.
How you'll help us make health happen:
Develop high quality mobile applications using React native for iOS and Android platforms.
Work alongside Mobile lead within projects of varying scope and size.
Work closely with UI/UX team to ensure design and user experience is consistent and meet requirements.
Development of new or existing applications and solutions in line with application designs, development standards,
methodologies and strategic architecture frameworks.
Working as a lead alongside technical SMEs within projects of varying scope and size.
Provide input to solution design teams about technical breakdown of applications, impact analysis and validation of proposed solutions.
Evaluate existing products and solutions to propose practical improvements, taking ownership and working with
colleagues and business owners to implement changes.
Drive improvements to development practices and technical documentation.
Take ownership of maintaining and expanding development standards within your technical domain.
Work closely with business owners and solution designers, lead development of proof of concepts to ensure end to end solutions are fit for purpose.
Investigate and propose the establishment of new technologies and methodologies that can improve development practices and products.
Manage implementation activities, change control and release planning.
Take ownership of improvements for internal documentation of products and technical solutions.
Become the point of contact for technical and domain specific support for other teams within your technical domain.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
Significant experience in developing mobile application development with focus on React Native
Strong and proven experience of Styled components, React Hooks, RN testing library, API integrations (SDKs, Axios), Expo, Strorybook.
Comprehensive knowledge of the full end to end mobile development lifecycle, include experience deploying in Android and IOS ecosystems, tools, and processes.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript experience
Experience with Redux or similar state management libraries.
Understanding of alternate mobile development frameworks and techniques, native mobile development on both IOS and Android platforms.
Experience of Microsoft App Centre and of deployment processes to mobile app stores.
Strong understanding of mobile performance optimization techniques.
Strong DevOps experience using Azure DevOps, Webpack, Babel and npm
Agile methods
Knowledge of coding standards and source control techniques
Strong communication skills
Flexible attitude, ability to perform under pressure
Ability to work well within a team
Excellent Test Script and Documentation skills
Experience working in more than one of the following service delivery functions; development, support, software design or environment configuration
Knowledge and experience of a broad range of technologies or expert in a single technology
Ability to translate business goals into technology solutions
Experience of working in a matrix managed environment, with mixed teams including contractors and outsourced vendors
