FAQ's

How do you support employees with disabilities?

We support people with disabilities and long-term health conditions through workplace adjustments, specialist equipment and software where needed, with the help of our dedicated Workplace Adjustments Team.

People can also access resources and guidance through our partnership with the Business Disability Forum, as well as tools like our Help to Thrive form, which helps people discuss the support and adjustments they may need.

Is Bupa a good place to work for carers?

We support our people with caring responsibilities through flexible ways of working where roles allow, wellbeing resources and access to external support. As members of Carers UK's Employers for Carers programme, we continue to strengthen the support available to our people across the business. Our people can also access guidance on care options and support services through our Customer Care Team Support Line. Whether you're caring for a parent, partner, child or another loved one, we're committed to creating a workplace where you feel supported to thrive.

How does Bupa support parents?

At Bupa, we know that balancing work and family life can be both rewarding and challenging. That's why we support parents through family-friendly policies, wellbeing resources, and flexible ways of working where roles allow. Parents can access a range of support, including:

  • Family Mental HealthLine - expert guidance and support for parents and carers concerned about a child or young person's mental health and wellbeing.
  • Staff Health Trust - the option to add eligible dependants, helping your family access healthcare support when it's needed.
  • 24/7 Anytime HealthLine - health advice and support for family members aged 16+ living at the same address.
  • From Babies with Love - a special gift to celebrate the arrival of a new child through birth or adoption.
  • Pregnancy and parenting support - access to expert guidance through our partnership with Tommy's, supporting you and your partner throughout pregnancy and early parenthood.
  • Family life content with JAAQ at Work - short, expert-led videos covering everything from children's wellbeing and school transitions to bullying, fatherhood and parenting challenges.

You'll also have opportunities to connect with others through our employee networks, sharing experiences, advice and support with other parents and carers across Bupa.

How does diversity benefit Bupa and its customers?

Having people with different experiences, perspectives and backgrounds helps us better understand the diverse communities we serve. It encourages fresh thinking, drives innovation and helps us deliver better outcomes for our customers.

How often do employees need to be in the workplace?

This depends on the role. Some people work remotely, some work in a hybrid way, and others are based primarily in a workplace. For hybrid roles, workplace attendance expectations vary. For example, employees in Workplace First roles are typically expected to spend an average of 40% of their contracted working time in a Bupa workplace, averaged over a quarter. Full details of the working pattern for each role will be shared during the recruitment process.
