Charlotte's success story
For anyone considering an apprenticeship, Charlotte's advice is simple: "Do it! Dedicate the time, be fully committed, and you won't regret it. Knowledge is something no one can take away from you."
Charlotte embarked on our apprenticeship to sharpen her people management skills, challenge her thinking, and master the art of handling tough conversations. "I loved pushing myself, thinking outside the box, and getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. Plus, the connections I made with others on the same course were priceless," she shared.
Balancing a full-time job and an apprenticeship wasn't easy, but Charlotte's discipline was unwavering. She explained, "I pre-booked weekly slots in my diary, which I discussed with my manager as non-negotiable. Committing to such an intense course required strict time management, and this approach helped me stay on track."
The support Charlotte received throughout her apprenticeship was exceptional, with someone always available to guide her every step of the way. "My Professional Development Expert (PDE) was always there to reassure me and answer any questions I had. Whether I needed more explanation on a topic or was having a moment of doubt, they were there to support me. My managers also played a crucial role by attending meetings with my PDE, providing honest feedback, and holding me accountable during our one-on-one meetings."
Reflecting on her recent professional development course, Charlotte shared that the most valuable skill she learned was the RAG (Red, Amber, Green) rating system. This technique transformed how she viewed her workday and prioritized tasks, helping her manage her time more effectively and boosting her confidence to take on new challenges.
