Full time 37.5 hours

Salary from: £74,400 per annum (DOE and location) plus 10% bonus

As a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping the platforms that support our digital services. You'll help build secure, reliable and scalable cloud solutions that enable our teams to deliver high-quality care and support to customers.

This is a leadership role where you'll guide technical direction, support colleagues and influence how we develop and operate our cloud platforms. How you'll help us make health happen

As a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the design, build and evolution of cloud-based platforms and infrastructure

  • Set technical direction and support best practices for platform engineering

  • Ensure systems are secure, reliable and scalable

  • Drive automation and continuous improvement of platform services

  • Collaborate with engineering, security and operations teams

  • Support the delivery of applications by providing robust platform capabilities

  • Monitor performance and respond to incidents to maintain service quality

  • Coach and support other engineers, sharing knowledge and guidance

  • Ensure solutions align with internal standards and regulatory requirements

Key Skills/Qualifications needed for this role

We're looking for a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer who:

  • Has strong experience working with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS or GCP)

  • Demonstrates expertise in platform engineering, infrastructure and automation

  • Has experience leading or mentoring engineers

  • Is confident working with deployment, monitoring and configuration tools

  • Has knowledge of scripting or programming languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell or similar)

  • Understands security, reliability and performance in cloud environments

  • Communicates clearly and works well with a range of stakeholders

  • Takes a proactive, solution-focused approach
