How you'll help us make health happen

As a Physiotherapist, you'll work across both MSK Outpatients and Orthopaedic Inpatients, providing expert assessment, treatment, advice, and rehabilitation to a diverse patient group. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key role in helping patients improve their mobility, manage pain, and achieve the best possible outcomes following injury, illness, or surgery.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage orthopaedic patients pre and post operatively, ensuring safe and effective recovery plans are implemented.

  • Develop individualised treatment programmes and monitor patient progress against agreed goals.

  • Work collaboratively with consultants, nursing teams, allied health professionals, and other key stakeholders to provide excellent patient care.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional and regulatory standards.

  • Support service development through audit, research, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice.

  • Contribute to the education and development of colleagues, students, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Assist with the day-to-day organisation of the service, ensuring high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.

  • Participate in weekend, evening, and out-of-hours cover as required.

  • Occasional requirement to support late orthopaedic surgery cover. Training will be provided.

What we're looking for

  • Diploma or BSc Degree in Physiotherapy.

  • HCPC and CSP registration.

  • Minimum three years' post-graduate physiotherapy experience.

  • Significant musculoskeletal physiotherapy experience.

  • Experience in orthopaedics, general surgery, and respiratory care.

  • Strong clinical reasoning, assessment, and treatment planning skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Knowledge of clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement principles.

  • Strong organisational, prioritisation, and IT skills.

  • Flexible, professional, and committed to continuous professional development.

  • Post-graduate training, audit involvement, and experience treating acute respiratory patients would be advantageous.
