We're looking for an experienced Clinical Service Manager to join our Theatre leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for a credible and inspiring clinical leader to shape the future of our perioperative services, supporting operational excellence while ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety and quality.

Working closely with the Head of Theatres, consultants and multidisciplinary teams, you'll play a key role in driving performance, developing our people and delivering service improvements that make a real difference to both our patients and colleagues.

How you'll make health happen

As Clinical Service Manager, you'll provide visible leadership across our theatre services, ensuring the safe, effective and efficient delivery of perioperative care while supporting the continued development of our teams and services.

You'll:

  • Lead, motivate and develop multidisciplinary theatre teams, creating a culture of excellence, accountability and collaboration.
  • Support the day-to-day operational management of theatres, ensuring effective utilisation of capacity, resources and workforce.
  • Deputise for the Head of Theatres when required, contributing to both strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance activities and patient safety programmes.
  • Monitor and act on performance metrics, quality indicators and service outcomes to continuously improve patient care.
  • Lead workforce planning activities, including recruitment, retention, succession planning and colleague development.
  • Develop strong relationships with consultants and key stakeholders to support service delivery and operational effectiveness.
  • Support financial performance through effective budget management, resource planning and capital equipment programmes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and patient experience while maintaining the highest standards of care.
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement across perioperative services.

Key Skills / Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll bring strong clinical leadership experience within a theatre environment and a passion for delivering outstanding patient outcomes.

You'll have:

  • Current NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Significant leadership and management experience within perioperative services/theatres.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary clinical teams in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety frameworks.
  • Experience managing operational performance, workforce planning and service delivery.
  • Financial management and budgetary experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with consultants and senior leaders.
  • Experience leading change, service improvements and workforce development initiatives.
  • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience) with evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a commitment to developing and empowering others.
