Location: Leeds (LS5 3BF) or Salford (M50 3SP)

Permanent

Salary range: £64,900 - £68,000 (Negotiable depending on experience)

Role specific benefits: 10% Bonus

Full time: 37.5 Hours per week

Grade: C16

As we continue our move to cloud‑based services, we're looking for Solution Architects who can balance change with stability-owning solutions end to end, unlocking the value of data, and designing technology that delivers great customer experiences while minimising technical debt. Working closely with business and technology leaders, you'll help shape the future of care through smart, sustainable technology choices.

How you'll help us make health happen

  • Lead and drive technology change and innovation across Bupa Care Services

  • Translate business challenges into clear, strategic technology solutions, balancing cost, risk, and time to value

  • Collaborate across architecture, engineering, data, security, and operations to deliver the technical vision

  • Design and influence end-to-end solutions, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and governance

  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to support successful delivery

  • Communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Ensure solutions meet governance, compliance, and quality standards with minimal friction

Key Skills / Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Solution Architecture roles

  • Ability to design end-to-end solutions for high-availability web, mobile, and cloud-based systems

  • Strong understanding of architecture modelling techniques such as UML and C4

  • Experience designing and delivering resilient, scalable, and secure systems

  • Solid background in web technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, REST, XML, and OData

  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Node.js, Java, C#, or Python

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (particularly Azure Cloud Platform and Google Cloud Platform), including PaaS solutions and workload migration

  • Expertise in modern architectural practices, including:
    Microservices
    API-led design
    CI/CD pipelines
    Infrastructure as Code
    Cloud-native design patterns

  • Strong ability to collaborate with engineers and technical teams, confidently engaging in detailed technical discussions

  • Experience designing data architectures that are scalable, secure, and optimised for performance

  • Care and telecare industry knowledge is advantageous, though not essential
