Creating
Social media content

Social media is one of the most powerful tools for connection and influence. It allows us to share our authentic stories, celebrate achievements, and more.

Best Practice & Useful Resources

Permissions & Privacy

  • Get Consent: Always ask teammates if they're okay being filmed / photographed - especially if the video will be shared externally.
  • No customers: Avoid filming customers unless you have explicit permission.
  • Check your surroundings: Make sure there's nothing confidential in the background e.g. screens, documents, building pass etc.

As there is currently no social media policy for India, please use Bupa’s UK & Ireland social media policy as a guide: click here

Photography

Lighting

  • Natural light is best: stand facing the light source, like a window or open door to avoid shadows.
  • If you’re outside, choose a shaded spot for softer light (avoid harsh midday sun).

Frame your shot

  • Keep the thing you want people to focus on in the center of your photo.
  • If possible, include a hint of your workplace or Bupa branding (like a logo or uniform).
  • Choose a clean, uncluttered background.
  • Use landscape (horizontal) for LinkedIn posts.
  • Use portrait (vertical) for Instagram stories or mobile content.
  • Leave some room for us to pop a logo on your image if needed.

Quality

  • Wipe your camera lens before taking the photo for sharpness.
  • Don’t zoom in, move closer instead for a clear shot.
  • Tap to focus: Iphone's allow you to tap the screen where you want the camera to focus - especially on faces.

Video

Sound

  • Choose a quiet space and turn off TVs, radios, and background noise.
  • Speak slowly and clearly

Framing

  • Hold the camera at eye level — avoid looking down or up.
  • Use a tripod or prop your phone to keep it steady.
  • Use portrait (vertical) when filming as it's the best format for reels.

Speaking

  • Smile and speak naturally — don’t overthink it.
  • Share your real experience in your own words.
  • Imagine you’re talking to a teammate

Post Copy / Wording - Working at BCC - India

Keep it short and snappy: 50 - 150 words is the sweet spot

Hashtags we would like you to use:

#BupaGCCIndia #LifeAtBupa

Tone of voice

  • Use friendly language / keep it positive
  • Try to use words / descriptions that people outside of Bupa would understand
  • No slang or anything you wouldn’t say at work.

Emoji's help to add personality (but don't replace words with emoji's)

  • 1–3 relevant emojis is enough
  • Examples of appropriate emojis: blue heart, smiley face, sparkles, rocket, books.
