Ellie joined Bupa in 1995. As a national gymnast for Great Britain, she brought spirit and energy to the Accounts Payable team, juggling elite sport and spreadsheets with style. 

Ellie’s natural leadership quickly shone through, and by 2000, she had stepped into the role of Acting Team Leader, guiding her team with clarity, confidence, and vision. Just a year later, she pivoted into the tech space, playing a key role in launching the PeopleSoft E-Purchasing system. It was here she uncovered a true passion for problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.

When her trampolining days came to an end, Ellie set her sights on growing her career, and her managers were right behind her. With their full support, she joined Bupa’s ‘Moving into Management’ programme to enhance her leadership skills and enrolled into evening courses in mentoring and counselling.   

Along the way, she found something unexpected: love. Ellie met her husband at Bupa, adding a personal twist to her professional journey. 

In 2010, Ellie embraced a new role: motherhood. Returning part-time, she mastered the art of balancing story time and spreadsheets, thanks to Bupa’s flexible working culture. 

Then came 2023—and Ellie’s toughest challenge yet: a breast cancer diagnosis. With unwavering determination, quiet strength, and the steadfast support of her Bupa family, she faced her treatment journey head-on. Thanks to Bupa’s Health Trust policy, Ellie was able to access the care she needed. Her return to work was met with compassion and flexibility, with occupational health and management putting thoughtful measures in place—like adaptable working hours—to ensure she felt supported every step of the way. 

Today, Ellie’s thriving as a Project Consultant in our People Technology and Digital Team. She’s still surpassing expectations—only now it’s with data dashboards, system upgrades, and seamless collaboration with tech partners.
