National Contact Centre Day

By News & Stories

We helped over 4 million customers in 2025

Every year, millions of people turn to Bupa for support with their health, reassurance, and clarity during moments that really matter. In 2025 alone, our UK contact centre at Bupa Place helped 4.6 million customers, with our teams handling 300,000 more contacts than the previous year. Our teams also completed 67,500 hours of training, averaging over 56 hours per advisor.

But behind every one of those moments is a person in our contact centre and they all have thier own unqiue career story to tell.

“Our people are at the heart of our business and make a difference to our customers’ lives every day. From helping people get quick access to services they need, to making healthcare journeys more frictionless at what can often be a stressful time.”

Adele, Incident Manager

When Adele walked into Bupa’s Manchester contact centre 33 years ago, she thought it would be a job — not a career. What she found instead was a place that nurtured her potential, encouraged her curiosity, and opened doors she didn’t even know existed.

“It was in the contact centre that I learned how to really listen,” she says. “Not just to the words customers were saying, but what they needed underneath. That skill changed everything for me.”

Over time, that natural curiosity set her on an unexpected career path — one that took her from advisor, to trainer, to governance specialist, to service manager, and now to Incident Manager, supporting Bupa’s global operations.

And it all started with a headset and a desire to help people.
